SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans)

No solo events have been held locally since the last BOD meeting.

Our next local event is the starting line school and event #5 on July 29 & 30. Registration is open and 109 are registered for event #5 so far. Starting line has at least 16 registered as of a week ago. Registration for Starting Line ends on Wednesday and registration ends for event #5 ends on Thursday. Registration is open for events 6, 7, & 8. The next MiDiv event is August 5 & 6 in Lincoln. 99 are registered so far.

Registration for Nationals opened for tier 3 participants opened on June 27 at 3:00 PM and was sold out in under 4 1/2 hours. The event cap is 1300 drivers.

A couple of items from recent SDAC meetings may be of interest:

  1. 1Notify Region representatives that if they are using self tech forms that these forms shall be retained the same as waiver forms. We would prefer that regions not mail these to the national office for retention.
  2. Notify Region representatives that if asked to perform as an expert witness that they should consider who is involved. It may be that they are being asked to testify against the SCCA.  It’s best to just say no to such requests.
  3. Stolen Trailer writeup status – Rick will go back to review. There was some discussion that insured property must be registered to an individual. I’m aware that in Steel Cities Region our equipment is insured as business property. I will follow up with Gene Kerns (couldn’t recall his name on the call last night) to find out specifically how we do that.
  4. Keep an eye on online forums and weigh in on toxic posts. The trolls may not recognize it but those posts are not welcoming to new members.
  5. The national office is looking for ideas for national convention presentation topics for solo.
  6. Training for new SSS is being handled online through a course developed by the national office. Event shadowing and local monitoring from experienced SSS’s will continue as before. Renewals will also need to take the online course.

Bill, have we thought about having an Apple Air tag on the trailer as a way to locate should it go missing. Cost reasonable need to watch batteries. Will be considered.

Phil, will be talking to insurance agent about covering the solo trailer and will purchase a policy if under $500.

Lincoln Solo Nationals, we should have plenty of room, air force has moved out and we can go north. No work has begun an new buildings.

KVRG REPORT: (Chris Kern)

Event at OIR had 56 race cars and 38 TT cars. National time trial squeezed in they were busy. Track for test day and we operated Saturday and Sun, Saturday feed went well TT made pulled pork. Both TT and race group worked together to get the schedule set for the weekend to make the event occur.
