VENUE:
Heartland Motorsports Park

Heartland Motorsports park has one of the premium road courses in the country. A 2.5 mile course can be configured a number of ways during SCCA events.

Construction on Heartland Motorsports Park took more than a year and on August 11, 1989, four years after a motorsports facility was proposed in Topeka, the track hosted its first race, the Camel Grand Prix. Built at a cost of nearly $22 million, Heartland Motorsports Park has been hosting record setting performances since the doors first opened over 30 years ago. Since 2016, the updates and renovations that have been done to the facility have been tremendous. Consequently, Heartland Motorsport Park’s 2019 season is expected to be one of the busiest to date. With over 56 days filled with road racing, 13 Test & Tune’s on the drag strip, four Sprint Car events on the dirt oval, and four nationally recognized events, Heartland invites you to come out to one or many of their 156 days of fast, fun-filled events!

On Arrival

To enter the track for SCCA events turn east off SW Topeka Blvd. onto Gary Ormsby Dr.  Follow Gary Ormsby Dr. to the east side of the track facility. Turn west onto Paddock Dr. and you’ll see the Registration/Check-In building. After registration you enter the track through the tunnel. Participant and spectator parking is in the North paddock.

The false grid is located on the west side of the paddock. The pit lane enters the track on driver’s left close to Turn 0. Pit-in is reached by going straight, rather than turning right, at Turn 12. Sound control for SCCA events is on driver’s left just before Turn 9. Tech and impound are located in the Tech Barn on the south side of the North paddock. [SEE: Facility Map]

Assembly Points
The F&C Corner Meeting is held in the pavilion on the north-west corner of the paddock, about 45 minutes before the first session of the day. Other specialties may assemble elsewhere, but, if you don’t know where to go, this would be a good place to come for guidance.

Spectator Information

The best way of finding out if you would like to get involved in SCCA Club Racing is to go to one of our races at Heartland Park, Topeka. Visitors are invited to experience what the SCCA has to offer at any our events.

PLEASE REMEMBER
Our Club Races are organized primarily for the benefit of the participants, so facilities are more limited than you might find at a Pro Racing weekend. Any questions you may have can be answered by our friendly people at Registration or Hospitality.

FAQs

Check the calendar or the home page for our next Club Race weekend.

Admission to all KVRG-sanctioned Club Racing events is free for SCCA members and non-members.

Practice usually starts around 8:00 am, and races around lunch-time. Racing generally finishes around 5:00 pm.

Facilities are more limited than at a Pro Racing weekend, but the concession stands and souvenir shop are open for limited hours. Permanent restrooms are located behind the concession stand.

Good vantage points are the pit side grandstands or on the hill between turns 10, 11, and 12.

If you want to get down to the trackside itself as a corner worker, you will need to join SCCA in order to be covered by our insurance. Short-term trial memberships are available.
