Board Member(s) not present: Jessica Dorn

TREASURER REPORT: (Jessica Dorn)
April 2021

Starting Cash$14,601.80
Starting CD$83,588.15
Ending CD$83,630.90
Ending Cash$16,149.04
Ending Balance$99,779.94

In addition to the report, we had a $31,000 CD mature last month. Current rates are still bleak, but I would like to make a motion to put the $31,000 into a 1-year-CD at 0.10% interest. Unless you think interest rates are going to increase soon, I would rather put it back in and have it earning something rather than nothing. But if the Board would like it kept out for another month, I understand and will do as the Board wishes.

Current interest rates as of yesterday morning were:

6-month CD 0.05%
1-year CD 0.10%
3-year CD 0.015%

Donna made a motion to move the CD to a new one year, Tim second the motion. Motion carried. Ed will respond to Jessica to renew the CD. Donna made

SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans – Al could not attend so Ed read his report)
We held our first solo event this past weekend at MCC. Saturday’s test and tune attracted 25 people with a number of no shows due to the weather. Sunday’s event #1 attracted 68 people. The weather stayed dry and there were smiles all around. I attribute the lower than usual turnout to a variety of factors including lateness in announcing the schedule, graduation season, and uncertainty about the weather.

There were a couple of glitches in the event but overall it went well. We discovered that AXWare needed to be updated to include new classes and PAX/RTP factors. This is in process. We also need to locate the AXWare licenses and make at least one available to the new T&S chief(s).

There is a leak in the fiberglass bubble above the cab of the van. There were several inches of water trapped there at the start of the event. Some of it was siphoned off afterward but the hose clogged and nobody wanted to start the siphon with the nasty water after it was cleared. It is thought that a small hole at the front of the base of the bubble would allow the water to drain if the leak can not be located in a timely manner.

We would like to request that a new (or used) file cabinet be purchased for the timing area of the trailer. The current one has a problem with the lock and the solution is finicky at best.

Another request is for the purchase of a tow strap in case a vehicle gets stuck in the mud and needs to be pulled out.

Construction on Little Blue Parkway has altered the drainage characteristics of the MCC site and more of the runoff is trapped on the site than before.

Our next event is June 19 and registration opened today.

Ed motion to purchase a tow strap and a new file cabinet. Second Tim. Motion passed.

Ed, will notify Al about the agreement to make purchases.

Rueben, will follow up with Eric about getting the sealer for the van bubble which is leaking. Horns have been purchased for the van and need to be installed.

Rueben, was asking about the price of the MCC site and the last weekend, does not appear we broke even is that correct. Paula indicated that we did not break even for the two days.

Rueben, Has a copy, two laptops have a copy, Dan has a copy, David Williams has one. looking for who has license. Went to AXWare and there are 8, we know about 4 but do not know were the other 4 licenses are. So we are looking for 3 more licenses.

Paula, we need to update the software to update classes. Rueben, you can have the software updated as the laptops can be updated. Who should be responsible to get the laptops updated.

Mike will try to contact Dan Wheeler and will reach out to AXWare tomorrow to get things rolling.

KVRG REPORT (Chris Kern):

June 17th for track night need help for this event.

July event will have a different format, will include a 6 hour enduro with a standard SCCA event on top. Registration coming soon.

RALLYCROSS REPORT (Niles Davis):

Tried out new equipment for timing which worked well and looking for better weather. 12 and 13 of June pushed back to 26 and 27.

Mike will be getting the updates to the web this week.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Have to get the horns installed, Rueben following up on this,  and then the inspection needs to be completed.
  2. AL Hermanns have the van and trailer parking spot secured for May and June and in ongoing diccussions for rental through October.
  3. In person meetings. Should start with a board meeting, maybe at The Bar in Mission. Hard to find the room for the up to 50 people. Tim, can we look at out doors. Would need to look in July August for general meeting. Lisa to set up a board meeting at the Bar for next month. Could we do a general meeting at the carting venue? Will do a survey on Facebook to see who is interested.
  4. Zach Crotts with Wrap Effects in Olathe will provide the labor to wrap the truck sides and trailer, one side and back. He uses a print company to do the vinyl.

My proposal is to have Reuben do the graphic design as he offered.
We ask for sponsorship to pay for the vinyl.
Since the wrap will be semi permanent, I suggest we approach multiple companies for long-term sponsorship with their logos on the wrap.

Suggestions:
Subaru, per Reuben
Modified by KC
Blue Label Racing
The new Dare-To-Dream
Apex Auto Werks (Zach was confident they would do it)
Zohr Tire
Chicane Motorsport
Other suggestions?

Example: >$500 and a commitment for $500 each year for the ad on the vehicles.

Rueben allowed that he works with companies and we should check against the company used by Crotts to get the best price.

Mike we can offer also mentioning them on the website so they have visibility their as well.

Greg and Rueben will be contacting sponsors for the wrap. They will also work on getting the estimates for the vynal.

Note: truck and trailer will need to be prepped by us prior to the wrap.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Paula, Had an enquiry from someone to buy the old van, $1000 contact Mike or Dan.
  • Charlie and Mike have done the trophies and many have been delivered. The living the dream trophy was broke and it has been repaired. Mementos have an issue and will be done next week.
  • Ozarks racetrack maybe ready for events next year.
  • David Williams maybe looking to take over Road Rally, is he or is some one else. Lisa will contact him and see if he is interested for 2021.

Call for motion to adjourn
Tim made a motion to adjourn, Bill seconded. Motion passed.
