  • June 21 – Event #6 – Cancelled
  • July 26 – Event #7 – Threatened

I heard from MCC today and they have no timetable for allowing events on their campus. They are evaluating in response to city and county orders and will let us know when they will have the site available. I will contact them every few weeks to follow up.

We are co-hosting a two-day event with KS Region on July 11 & 12.  Preparations are underway.

Divisional Schedule:

  • May 16 & 17 (Topeka, KS) – Cancelled / Postponed to October 3 & 4
  • June 6 & 7 (Salina, KS) – Finished
  • June 20 & 21 (Neosho, MO) – Postponed to October 17 & 18
  • July 11 & 12 (St. Louis, MO) – Cancelled
  • August 8 & 9 (Lincoln, NE) – Looking good at this time

National Schedule:

  • Spring Nationals (Lincoln, NE) – Postponed until August 19-23

Discussion about using alternate sites like Arrow Head for Solo. Price and speed limit a concern. What about the Hyvee Arena? Solo having a hard time finding a site.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT: (Paula Diehl)
555 members SCCA. Down 2 members and lost 22 members not renewing. 17 new first time members for the month.

Group – Need to have events to retain members and make income.

KVRG REPORT: (Chris Kern)
KVRG July 17th, 18th and 19th. Registration is up. We have a track night Friday afternoon and a test day Friday morning plus the race weekend. Need lots of help for all the days for this event. Waiting on entries and numbers.

Passed out Hot Wheels for workers with event schedules at Hallett

RALLY CROSS REPORT: (Dan Colburn/Reuben)
Had biggest event at I-35 with 53 entries and 12 runs. No event for July and will return in August. Been reviewing further sites. Reuben has been looking into a new site with multiple course options.

Moving forward with the RX T&T for our Unnaturally Aspirated Charity event and discussing progress with the new I-70 motorsports park venue. Will know by end of week if they will host in August. UA is now with Breath Easy and a full 503 C.

STREET SURVIVAL REPORT:
Being able to setup is hard because of Covid having strangers in the same car for instruction is difficult. Will take 70 days so not sure October is doable. Depends on what the school does. Most events nation wide have been put on hold for Street Survival.

WEB REPORT: (Mike McGinley)
All events are up to date. Hallett Majors results will be posted by the end of the day and TT results will be posted tomorrow. The calendar is updated for BOD meeting tonight and July needs to updated for General Meeting and Race Group meeting.

COMMITTEES
Social Events: (Lisa Kern)
Ideas for General Meeting in July & August? The Bar will not be able to accommodate a face to face GM. Next in person, maybe the race group. July General Meeting cancelled.

Trying to find a shelter house for an outdoor gathering, will be working on after the 4th. Should this will be for a General Meeting in August? After the call the Board decided via email to postpone face to face General Meetings until around October, and perhaps resume with a picnic at the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival.

OLD BUSINESS:
Discussion of our van and the needed repairs. Bill Johnson will chair the discussion.

Making the assumption that with the late start for solo, solo and rally cross will be close to a break even for the year and will not generate the usual income for the region. Looking at this years financials we had approx. $7,500.00 worth of expenses in February that include the banquet, expenses for the national convention and the Midiv convention. We will have a small income from memberships but will also have other expenses like web site maintenance, insurance and storage.

Projecting out to March of next year:

With Current Cash
Current total cash funds available to club$16,100.00
Minus usual February expenses-$7,500.00
Money left for new vehicle and other expenses$8,600.00
With breaking a CD
Current total cash funds available to club$16,100.00
Available from CDs without 100% vote (leaving $75,000)$14,767.00
Total available breaking a CD$30,867.00
Minus usual February expenses-$7,500.00
Money left for new vehicle and other expenses$23,367.00

The short of it is, if we buy a new vehicle we’ll have to take money out of the CDs at some point for the purchase and/or to get started next year. We also need to keep in mind that we’ll need to add about 10% to the purchase price of a new vehicle for sales tax and tags.

Current van not worth repairs. We are working with James for towing trailer for the rest of this year.

Vote to use the government rate of 57.5 cents for reimbursement, Greg made the motion and Paula seconded. Motion carried.

Buying a new van will be tabled for next year.

Tim made a motion to reinvest money back to a CD, Ed second. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
Jessica is trying to get the Checkpoint out, have you responded to her schedule questions? Answers are in.

Thank you Ed Nicholson and Greg Cheney for writing articles for this month. Who will commit to writing an article for July?

Call for motion to adjourn Tim and second Bill, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
Edward Nicholson
SCCA Board Secretary
