TREASURER’S REPORT: (Jessica Dorn)
January 2023

Starting Cash$25,803.02
Starting CD$83,379.87
Ending CD$83,428.50
Ending Cash$25,136.57

Josh made a motion to approve the treasurers report; Chris seconded.  Motion passed unanimously.

In addition to the Treasurer’s report sent last week, here is an update on our CDs. We had one mature yesterday and one maturing next week. Here is the CD information:

NameMaturity DateAmount
CD12/27/2023$12,000
CD23/8/2023$12,000
Checking Account6/5/2023$10,000
CD37/14/2023$31,000
CD411/20/202328,000
Van & Trailer Fund3/1/2024$1,000

In the past, the intent was to have four CDs so we could have access without penalty if needed to these funds on a quarterly basis. Over the years, this has gotten a little out of whack especially as we didn’t want to lock in a low interest rate for very long. I propose either combining CD1 and CD2 to have three total CDs around $25,000 and space them out in trimesters if at all possible OR leaving the four CDs and spacing them out in quarters again if possible.

Current rates are:

  • 3 month CD @ 4.65%
  • 6 month CD @ 4.90%
  • 9 month CD @ 4.95%
  • 1 year CD @ 5.00%
  • 18 month CD @ 5.00%

Discussion on what to do with the CDs, do we need to have access quarterly, do we put them in for a year? Interest rates are at 5%. Shall we put the current CDs back at 5% and them when the other comes due. Let’s put CD1 and CD2 into one CD for 5%, Mike made a motion and Greg approved motion carried.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT: (Paula Diehl)
In Paula’s absence Bill indicated that we are still around 615 members.
All letters are out for the SCAA Pins. There are seven new legacy families.

SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans)
Test & Tune and Event #1 are open for registration. As of this morning 50 people have signed up for the T&T and 70 people have signed up for the event. These will take place on March 25 & 26.

Registration for the MiDiv (Events 2 & 3) being held on April 29 & 30 should open in a few weeks.

Trailer cleanout and inventory is scheduled for March 11 at 10:00 AM at a location to be determined.

National office is test marketing “Autocross Night in America” with some regional partners. Similar to Track Night in concept in that they are not competitive events, just fun. Kansas region is one of the partners.

There were several trophies unclaimed at the banquet. I will be bringing them to local events and hopefully most of them will be given out.

The contract has been signed with MCC for the 14.5 days requested. The rental rates have increased from last year.

The sanctions have been requested from the national office for all events.

Phil’s discussion about Heartland Park solo pad. We have been informed that the repaving would cost $3 Mill and they do not have any plans to do that in the near future. This comes from Devon who is the facility director for HMP. In further discussions there may be a chance for the solo group to do a track course circuit in the future.

KVRG REPORT: (Chris Kern)
We have contracts in place for HMP and Ozark. There is a meeting coming up next Monday where we will be discussing details for the events.

Ozark track owner did give $500 for the Mid Div convention to use for welcome gathering Friday evening.

RALLYCROSS REPORT: (Nils)
Rally Cross 1 was cancelled for last weekend, due to last Thursday rain.

WEB REPORT: (Paula Diehl) NA

BANQUET: (Bill)
Discuss about space utilization, could we fit in 2 more tables. Will do some more discussing with Amanda about next year.

MID DIV CONVENTION
Charline Bettinger Secretary
Betty Martin Treasury
Chris Kern Assistant Chair
James Cahill Chair

Adam Pessetto wants to look around for a venue for next years convention. Will have numbers on region support. Just under 70 attended.

Mike, the convention seems to  be focused on worker session versus participant focus. In the past there were sessions for drivers to learn race craft, safety, etc..

Jeremey, we could have sessions on driving tracks and make it much more interesting.

Bill national convention maybe in Kansas City next year. When it was at Crown Center it was a nice convention.
