SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans)

MiDiv Events #1 & #2 (Regional Events 2 & 3) were held on April 29 & 30. There were 132 drivers on Saturday and 154 drivers on Sunday. There were 117 drivers that came for both days and 169 total participants. Both days featured fun, fast courses and 3 heats per day. As with most events, there were a couple of glitches but they were quickly solved. Results are posted on the region website.

Our next local event is the novice school and event #4 on June 17 & 18. Registration is open and 34 are registered for the school and 54 for event #4 so far. The next MiDiv event is this coming weekend in Salina.

Jonathan Robertson will be getting the rookie incentive fund of $500.00 to aid his going to Solo Nationals in Lincoln, NE.

KVRG REPORT: (Chris Kern)

Good event at Heartland 63 and 29 good weekend, thanks to all who came out to work still waiting to hear about outcome. KVRG will be having a meeting shortly and will provide update on how the event came out.

July event is upcoming at Ozark. Planning to have a great Party for Saturday night for all. Looking for 40 or more entries for Time Trials that weekend and more on the race side. Working on schedule for race day with National TT group, issue with being sure we can get all race groups and TT groups in during the day.

Heartland Park could be in trouble on the taxes to the city, stay tuned.

RALLYCROSS REPORT: (Greg provided report from events in May.)

We had the events as weather was good for both finally, Grain Valley event had 32 entries and May 21 event at I 35 had 35. The new timing tubes where used at the events and they seem to be working very well.

From Nils about the UA event.

All Kansas City Region SCCA Members: The RallyCross Committee invites you to join us at the 2023 Fun Runs and First Timers event on June 11, 2023 to experience a great program and give back to the community through a great charity.

If you have not had the opportunity to attend a RallyCross event this event allows you to bring out your street car or race car with all seasons, snows, or aggressive tread tires and try some low traction action.  Rallycross is one of the fantastic programs the SCCA offers and as a SCCA member this is a non-competitive event to see what it is all about. Sign up and bring a car or put your car in the car show and get a ride along with one of the regulars.

This is also an opportunity to hang out with other SCCA members and just get to know people in the SCCA and Kansas City Region. So often the focus is on racing. This event is really about enjoying a fun sport and building relationships with other members by simply having fun with cars.

The RAC is planning to have pulled-pork BBQ for competitors during lunch. Sign-up, bring a car, make some friends, and have a great time doing it all.

All proceeds will go to Unnaturally Aspirated in support of individuals with chronic respiratory disease.  Check out UA and the UA mission at https://www.facebook.com/UnnaturallyAspirated.event/

Hope to see you at the event.

WEB REPORT: (Mike McGinley)
Issues with current hosting for website some applications cannot be brought up to date and this is causing added expenses. Should we change platform? What is the cost benefit? Ed and Paula to work with Rachel to answer those questions.

OLD BUSINESS

Van repairs, discussion on repair. We need to have someone who drives the truck so will discuss at GM next week.

  • There may not have been time to get repairs at this time. How was the van getting to Anderson, Jonathan and James has been working on this.

NEW BUSINESS

We are looking for a volunteer, National has left over items from our partners including a TT entry at the Ozarks. If there is a young driver on the fence due to car prep and entry money this will be a great opportunity. Phil will ask around at the SAC meeting. Will expand to Kansas Region for a candidate.

  • Turned in Max Baer’s name and we were too far into the year for to get the full package from national, we do have the fee entry but were too late to get the parts offered.
  • Could we work into the budget a free time trail entry for an event, rookie  to be given aide like Solo rookie of the year?

We had the July meeting at a park for a picnic. Last at O. P. Should look at doing this in August. Will bring  this up at the general meeting.

Do we skip the general meeting July since it will be in the 4th or reschedule?
