On April 20th members will get compensated for being as close to the road racing action at Heartland Motorsports Park as you can get without strapping on a helmet. While there are ways to make far more money than what’s being offered, few can match the camaraderie of being a member of the Leaping Lizards Corner Crew. I got hooked on working Flagging and Communications with the Lizards at HMP and it even wound up being one of the “recruiters” that got me back into serving my country with my enlistment in the Kansas Air National Guard (see my previous post) – but no, I don’t expect that from anyone else.
Wait, did you mention Money? That’s right, you can have fun and make a buck or two while you’re at it. Thanks to KVRG workers are going to get $10.00 an hour for helping out on the Test Day and/or the Track Night In America event on Friday before our April road racing weekend. Not only that, you’ll get lunch and dinner too! Chris Kern, one of our KVRG representatives, has offered to personally hand you some of that “folding green fertilizer of life” (read: cash!) if you come out. You can come out early (we need people starting at 8:00AM) or you can come out mid-day — we need workers until 8:00PM when Track Night ends. There will also be “something to wash dinner down with” once the day’s activities are over, if you know what I mean.
In order to put our best foot forward to the potential new members attending Track Night In America we need to have support trackside so we can have other members work the paddock and spread the SCCA love. So can we count on you? If you would like more information about this opportunity feel free to contact me (KCKKenSnyder@gmail.com) or Chris Kern (ChrisKSCCA@gmail.com or 913-558-1265). I look forward to seeing other members at Heartland on the 20th to take Chris’ money!
