At our recent Board of Directors meeting, Region Executive Bill Johnson stated that it’s time we resume our monthly Race Group meetings, which used to be held monthly, but stopped during Covid and never resumed.
The subject of road race events in the Midwest Division has been a topic at both the Board meetings and the General meetings for the last two months and we are soliciting input from Region members on ideas to increase both the number of events and the participation in the events. A variety of suggestions have been made, but we need to hear from you and we’d like your ideas.
This year we had three Majors events and one Super Tour/Majors event and we were done racing by the first weekend in June. Ten to fifteen years ago we had races starting in March and running through October. Many of us would like to do more events, but it takes participation to keep the racing at a break even point.
Our Race Group meeting has traditionally been held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at The Bar – 6101 Johnson Drive, in Mission KS. Please click through to our survey to let us know if you would prefer to keep it on Tuesday nights or move to a different night.
Our first Race Group meeting will be August 16th at 7:30pm at the Bar. After that, based on driver input and survey results we may change to another night. Thanks for your participation and we hope to see you there.
