Last month we shared a wonderful video from Tony Giordano’s grandson highlighting his passion for racing. Every single one of our members shares this passion in one one way or another. Sometimes this passion comes in the form of getting behind the wheel of your race car, sometimes this passion comes in the form of cheering on the sports cars and admiring the skills of the drivers, and sometimes this passion comes in the form of loving the Club so much that you raise your hand to volunteer.
I encourage you all to ask yourself what you can do to help us continue our mission to “encourage the preservation, ownership, and operation of sports cars and other fine automobiles.” Even just a few minutes a week can help us keep our calendars updated, help us create events on social media, help us pick up the water and ice needed for that morning’s event. These seemingly little things can add up to big things and help us get back to simply enjoying the race and those we get to share it with.
Look at the phenomenal following that Matthew Sebelski has gained in the sim racing league he orchestrated the past few years. His passion led to him creating the racing format and updating our members with posts on Facebook. His sacrifice led to our members being able to enjoy tracks and cars they wouldn’t typically be competing in. And ultimately, it gave our members a way to keep racing in the off season. Thank you, Matthew Sebelski, for putting this all together.
Thank you, Clarissa Votipka for taking over the KCRSCCA Twitter and Instagram accounts. Clarissa adds new content and keeps them up to date to help us reach other sports car enthusiasts.
As I type this, we are seeking someone or a group of people to take over the webmaster duties. Currently, Mike McGinley is serving in this role. In the past, Doug Patterson has served. If you have any experience with WordPress websites, and can find some time to help out, please let us know. Doug Patterson always used to say,
“many hands make for light work,” so the more people who can help out, the better.
