Call to Order
The Kansas City Region SCCA General Meeting was called to order by RE Bill Johnson at The Bar on October 4, 2022 at 7:33 pm.

Members present: Jeremy Salenius, Ed Nicholson, Chris Kern, Greg Cheney, Dick Berger, Guy Whatney, Jeremy Scotton, Phillip Meredith, Paula Diehl, Al Hermans, Jessica Dorn, Niles Davis, Henry Rompage, Neava Ford and Donna Cross.

Donna made a motion to approve the minutes; Dick seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Banquet: Ed Nicholson Chair. Date is 2/11/2023 at St. Andrews Golf Course (11099W 135th St Overland Park, Kansas.) Looking for those interested in helping setup and perform minor tasks at the banquet.

  • Nominating committee Bill – Greg, Tim, Al and Chris. No head and looking for two members. 4 positions open on the board and all officers. Need to determine who is going off the board.

SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans)
Event #6 was held on August 21. There were 110 participants. Event results are posted on the region website.

Street Survival was held on August 27. Following the scheduling debacle, we had a few cancellations but 19 students took the course. There were 6 in-car coaches, 5 staff for registration, setup, and help out on course, and one classroom instructor. It appears that the students were all pleased with the day as were the instructors.

Events #7 & #8 were held on September 17 & 18. There were 88 participants on Saturday and 106 on Sunday with a total of 125 distinct individuals for the weekend. Event results are posted on the region website.

National championships for Pro Solo and Solo were held between September 3 and September 9.  National solos 37 KCR members and 1 regular from KS Region attended. We had one national champion in Craig Wilcox from this region and 5 other trophy winners.

Our next local events are October 16 & 30 (Halloweenie) and registration is open on MSR for October 16.

Two SAC positions are available for the upcoming election. In addition, a position is available with one year remaining on the term. Anyone interested should contact the nominating committee or the SAC.

The last MiDiv event for this season is being held this weekend in Salina. Registration is still open on MSR.

Or Pro Solo there is the new Johnson-Clark-Johnson award. 


RALLY CROSS REPORT: (Nils)
Charity Event Had test and tune with the NA event and the event was cancelled at Thunder Valley. 19 for test and tune but none of the NA people came for the event except Nils a couple of other event leaders. Made $305.

Rally X nationals 8 members went. Nils Davis 2nd and Max Bear 8th prepared rear wheel drive, Mark Macoubrie 6th modified all-wheel drive, Mark Hill 2nd prepared all-wheel drive, Tiernan Eiberger modified front wheel drive and Ryan Redenbaugh 5th, Brian Tefft 6th, Bill Taylor 7th, Ian Jennings 8th and Brian Strack 9th modified rear wheel drive.  

Event #7 – Saturday, October 22nd @ Thunder Valley Sand Drags?
Event #8  – Sunday, November 20th. Look up venue.

KVRG REPORT: (Chris Kern and Mike McGinley)
Chris; Need help for Lake Garnett GP weekend of October 8th and 9th. Starts at 8 AM. Will not be a vintage group. Run until 1:30 Saturday and then a car show downtown. Sunday runs all day.

SCCA Runoffs – Were some fantastic driving in some challenging weather. There were just under 500 entries. Only 19 drivers from Midwest division.

There is a time trail event coming up a week from Lake Garnett GP at RPM.

Convention is 17th through the19th February at Independence Hilton Garden Inn at 19677 E Jackson Dr. Independence, MO. National staff will have a good presence. This is a great event to come attend.
