Call to Order
The Kansas City Region SCCA Board Meeting was called to order by RE Bill Johnson at Conroy’s on October 24th, 2023 at 7:07 pm.

Board Members present: Bill Johnson, Greg Cheney, Bob Henson, Josh Holsworth, Al Hermanns, Paula Diehl.

Board Member(s) not present: Chris Kern, Phil Meredith, Ed Nicholson, Mike McGinley and Jessica Dorn.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: (Ed Nicholson) 
Greg Cheney filling in for the mysteriously missing Ed Nicholson. Paula moved to approve, Josh seconded.

TREASURER’S REPORT: (Jessica Dorn)

Bob made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report;  Al seconded.

Bob made the motion, Josh seconded for rolling over one year. Unanimous approval.


MEMBERSHIP REPORT: (Paula Diehl)
We have 640 members, Lost 12 and picked up 3.


SOLO REPORT: (Al Hermans)

Al Hermans – 103 entries as of 10/24 noon. It’s going to be cold and rainy. Paula showed the 33rd Annual Halloweenie magnet to be given out.

Event #9 was held on October 8. There were 109 drivers with times.

Registration is open until Thursday at 11:59 PM for event 10 on MSR, scheduled for October 29.

There are 103 entries as of mid-afternoon today. There will be a silent auction, a potluck lunch, and a costume contest as usual for Halloweenie. Weather looks like it may be a bit chilly.

If anyone is interested in running for SAC, please let me know so I can add your name to the list.

We have 3 available positions this year.

We are working with Rick Meyers on approaching the ownership of the new drag strip in Odessa about use of their paddock area for solo events. Contact has yet to be made.

Nominations for the Kelly Cup are due soon. An announcement from the national office will be coming out soon.


KVRG REPORT: (Bill)

The Heartland Park events for 2024 have fallen through. It will be shut down soon.

Other venues are hesitant about running any events due to finances and volunteers.

There are currently only 2 facilities in the MiDiv for races. Hallett and Ozarks.

Discussion was made about seeking alternative sites or extra events.

Garnett Grand Prix Revival had over 200 participants.


RALLYCROSS REPORT: (Greg reporting)

The 10/15 event at Grain Valley was rained out.

The next event is 10/12 at I-35 Speedway


WEBSITE REPORT: (Paula Diehl)

Since Paula is running for RE this year it was suggested that Ed Nicholson be asked to be the Web liaison as he is tech savvy. Paula will ask him.


NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Ed has sent the slate of officers and bios collected thus far to the board.

We have been selected this year to generate the slate of candidates for the board of directors.

We need candidates for the following RE, ARE, Treas, Sec and two board members at large. Board members going off are Bob Hensen and Greg Cheney.

Paula gave us estimates for KCR Shield decals of different sizes.

Paula asked if there is an interest in a TSD rally. It was suggested that David Williams and Rich Baretta be contacted. Paula and Jake will work on it.

Next solo – October 29th Halloweenie Event 10.
Rally X – November 12 event 10 at I-35 Speedway.
Road racing – Finished for the year.
Track Night in America – Finished for the year.
Time Trials – Finished for the year.
