The Kansas City Region SCCA will hold it’s 2016 Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at the Ritz Charles in Overland Park, KS. This is a new venue for our Awards Banquet, and so how the evening progresses will be new as well. The first difference is that this will be a plated dinner rather than a buffet. That means we can continue our conversations, gossip, and bragging about our racing accomplishments while the staff brings our food to us! This does mean that you will need to make your menu selections at the time of your RSVP, and an RSVP will be required. You may submit your RSVP through a number of different methods including registering at MotorsportsReg.com, sending an email or giving a phone call to Lisa Kern, or returning your mailed invitation to Paula Diehl. The cost is $25 per person and you may submit your payment at the time you RSVP or at the door the night of the banquet. The dress is business casual. No fire suits, please. Helmets are optional.

In addition to the meal, awards, and general camaraderie, there will be a silent auction and a money tree in support of Variety KC GoBabyGo! Powered by Rockhurst University. GoBabyGo! is now a nationwide organization dedicated to turning ordinary electric toy cars into cost-effective alternatives to expensive electric wheelchairs for mobility-challenged kids. These cars do more for a child than mobility – children who achieve self-directed mobility, whether on their own or using some sort of assistive device, experience more social interactions, which leads to better communication skills. Exploration of their environment leads to improved cognition and memory and better spatial awareness.
