Welcome all racers to a new year!!! All of the programs are working hard to get this year’s schedules together. Look for a full list of events to be appearing soon on this website. Until warmer racing weather finally beats back Ol’ Man Winter, there is still a full list of happenings. First is the National Convention in Las Vegas January 18,19 and 20. The early registration has been pushed back until January 9th, so there is still time to sign up without a registration cost increase. Several of our own region’s members have been asked to speak, which is a huge honor. It would be fun to fill the room with KC Region members. And oh yes what happens in Vegas, well you know. It will be a great time to “talk shop”.
Vegas too far? No worries. The MIDWEST DIVISION Convention is right here in Independence, Mo at the Hilton Garden Inn on February 9, 10, and 11th. Great food (Hereford House) and great conversation. Registration is open on MotorsportsReg.com. SCCA Gear will be there showing all the latest club fashions and must have wear. Hospitality Rooms and super seminars. What better way to get inspired for the upcoming season.
Of course, don’t forget the world famous Kansas City Region SCCA Awards Banquet, celebrating 2017 accomplishments. (It’s famous in our world.) This year held at the Doubletree Inn in Overland Park, Kansas on February 3. What a great way to congratulate 2017 winners and make goals for 2018. Registration is also open on MotorsportsReg.com. Speaking for the 2018 Board for Directors, thank you for this unique opportunity to serve you, the membership. Please don’t be shy. Any questions, comments or complaints, let anyone of us know. After all we can’t get better if we don’t know the problem. The full list of Board members is listed on this site. Until the tracks open, happy trails.
Paula Diehl
KCRSCCA Region Executive
Editor’s note:
This year, we will be reintroducing the tradition of having a monthly report from the Regional Executive. Look for this to be a recurring feature throughout the year and hopefully beyond. You can contact Ms. Diehl, our RE, at re@kcrscca.org, and you can contact our Board of Directors at bod@kcrscca.org.
