Question about PAX standings for Sunday.
Since the course was changed and shortened a couple times on Sunday (due to asphalt breaking up) it would seem that using Sunday's overall PAX results toward the year long standings would not be appropriate. It would give people who ran in heat 2/3 significant advantage due to the shorter course.
Is there a way to solve for these changes or just eliminate all of Sunday's results from the year long totals..... And ...
Caveat: I wasn't there. Having said that, it seems that the only course of action would be to discount Sunday's times from the PAX championship calculations. The changeability of courses is one of the main reasons why a PAX-type system isn't officially used in RallyCross.

Since this was a Mid-Div event that is somebody else's call for the event, however for the KC Region these were also counted as our Event #2 and Event #3 and we run a year long PAX removed link All classes ran together so any impact to class standings would be nill, however when the course was shortened at least one time if not twice (in the afternoon) it would not be appropriate to count Sunday PAX standings toward the year long removed link Rain or changing weather is part of the normal removed link Changing the layout of course is removed link Totally understand the reason/need for the changes due to removed link
We talked about this at the SAC meeting and decided to leave the points as it removed link With a 10 event season, your best 8 finishes will count towards year end points and you need 7 events to removed link If we remove an event, someone may not have enough events to qualify or we may be removing an event from their 8 removed link I felt like more harm than good would come from removing the event from the removed link
We all know PAX isn't a perfect removed link Using PAX as the only metric for Driver of the Year should probably be the main topic of removed link
