RE’s Notes, November 2018

What a terrific year of racing we are experiencing! It’s not over yet. Still want more?

The Rally Cross program still has dates coming up. Check it out on their calendar page. The Rally Cross Nationals results are in. All the local winners are posted in the “Congrats” article also on this webpage. They have seen a huge growth in participation this year. Thank you to all who “tried it and liked it”. They are planning a full schedule for 2019 starting as early as February. On the KVRG side, they are building on a solid year.

The new KVRG Board is planning on a super year in 2019: more racing, and more opportunities for racers of all experience levels. There will be more information soon. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts the Road Rally scheduled for this month has been cancelled. Not to despair! Plans are already in the works for an early March two day event possibly March 2 and 3. Keep those dates open!

The SOLO program has completed their final event for the year, the Halloweenie. Despite bumping up against a Chief’s game, it was very well attended. The silent auction made over $1,300 for our charity “Go Baby Go”. Thank you to all for your generous bids. And thank you to Jessica Dorn for putting the auction together. There will also be a silent auction at the Awards Banquet in case you didn’t win your favorite item. Looking forward, the SOLO Advisory Committee (SAC) is already planning for 2019. If you have ideas or requests, this would be a great time.

A reminder to all that our election process will close the night of our December annual meeting. The ballots will be available to all shortly online. If you don’t get one or need help filling yours out electronically, please contact Tim Friest, ( )our election balloting chair. We will have a few paper ballots available at that meeting. However, it would be very helpful to the process if you could complete your ballots online.

The annual meeting is December 4, 2018 at the Stagecoach Inn: SAC meeting at 6pm, General Membership meeting at 7:30. A reminder to program chairs that your annual report is due at this meeting.

Save the dates:

  • January 17-19, 2019 National Convention, Las Vegas, Nevada
  • February 2, 2019, KCRSCCA Awards Banquet, Deer Creek Inn, Overland Park, Kansas
  • February 8-10, 2019 MIDIV Convention, Hilton Garden Inn, Independence, MO. Registration to open November 15th

All these events are great opportunities to “talk racing” with the greatest people of all, the SCCA members. Hope to see you there.

Until then, Happy Trails and safe travels.
