Building New Tire Barriers

On March 6, there is a Crash/Fire/Rescue class at Heartland Park. While we are conducting the class, the drivers are getting together in the maintenance building to help build more tire barriers for the track.
Since we have all, at one time or
another, said about some place, to ourselves or a friend, "Boy it would
sure be safer if there was a tire barrier there!"

It would be great if
we could all get up there at some point in time during the day and help
the drivers build walls. Our first concern at the track is the safety
of participants and "spectators" (some day, I hope. I can dream, can't
I?), and this is an excellent way of making a positive contribution to
that goal.

So, if your session ends early, if you're bored
(surely not!), if you're already an expert in your field (again, and
most definitely, surely not!) or if you have some time to kill between
your sessions and the Worker's Appreciation Dinner (don't forget about
that...and here's a perfect way to spend time before the dinner without
wasting it), get on up there, meet some drivers, and help them build
tire walls!!! They'll appreciate it, and some day, Heaven forbid,
we're all liable to be glad we did this!!!
